A DRINK-DRIVER has been ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work after magistrates heard he had drunk two and a half times the legal level of alcohol. Paul Harwood, aged 57, of Conway Avenue, Smithills, was caught driving a Ford Focus on Conway Avenue on January 28. He was banned from holding a licence for 26 months.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he admitted obstructing a train at Moses Gate station, Farnworth, on June 19 last year. Kai Flynn, alias Samuel Spencer-Hardman, aged 20, of Bentick Street, Farnworth, was also ordered to pay £107 in costs.

A WOMAN who had drunk four times the legal drink-drive limit has been given a suspended prison sentence. Leanne Cowell, aged 39, of Barrie Way, Hall i’th’ Wood, Bolton, was caught driving a Nissan Micra on Crompton Way, Bolton, on January 30. She was banned from the roads for three years and sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months during which she must undertake 150 hours of unpaid work.

A MAN fined for breaking coronavirus restrictions was also sentenced for other offences. Matthew Keigher, aged 41, of Great Holme, Great Lever, was at an address which was not his home on September 19 last year in breach of the restrictions. Keigher also pleaded guilty to possessing a CS gas canister in Lever Street, Bolton, on August 21, 2019 and drink-driving on May 17 last year when he drove a BMW on Grafton Street, Bolton. Keigher was sentenced to 140 hours of unpaid work, banned from applying for a driving licence for 26 months and fined £300. Kelly Lucas, aged 38, and also of Great Holme, was fined £200 after allowing two people who do not live at her home, into the premises to drink alcohol on September 19 last year.

A MAN who attacked a petrol station staff member with a petrol pump and used threatening behaviour towards two people has been jailed for 14 weeks. James Barrass, aged 31, of no fixed address, committed the unprovoked attack on Mohammed Bashir in Bolton on November 26 last year. He was also ordered to pay £50 in compensation.

MAGISTRATES have fined a woman £300 after she participated in an indoor gathering on August 19 last year in breach of coronavirus regulations. The case against Donna Mather, aged 39, of Black Moss Court, Radcliffe, was proved in her absence.

A DRUG-driver caught riding a scooter without a licence or insurance has been banned from the roads for three years. Karl Kimpton, aged 30, of Harwood Meadows, Bolton, was caught riding the Aprilla SR50 scooter on Darwen Road on September 16 last year. He had no licence or insurance and tested positive for having used cannabis. Kimpton was fined £160.

A MAN who breached a restraining order by contacting a woman has been ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work. Daniel Glover, aged 36, of Lee Lane, Horwich, committed the offence on March 31 last year and was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities.

A THIEF who stole items from apartment blocks has been given a suspended prison sentence. Shane Gibbons, aged 34, of Nevis Grove, Astley Bridge, burgled Valley Mill and Holden Mill on July 8 and 9 last year. Magistrates sentenced him to six weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to participate in a thinking skills programme and 10 days of rehabilitation activities.
