The family of a teenager who went missing in Bolton have spoken of their relief after she was found alive.

Kayleigh Cook-Dumbarton, aged 17, was last seen on East Way, Hall I’th Wood, at around 1am on Sunday.

She was only found after midday on Monday at Hall i’ th’ Wood museum by a passing dog walker.

Her father, Richard Dumbarton, made a plea to help find Kayleigh, as she suffers from epilepsy and needs to take medication daily to control her seizures.

He said it was a weight off his shoulders that Kayleigh had been found, but that the circumstances around it were very scary.

He said: “The information we have at the moment is sketchy but we believe she was found by a dog walker at Hall i’ th’ Wood museum.

“She was found in undergrowth which means she may have had a seizure and ended up there but thankfully she is with the emergency services now so is safe.

“It just feels like a huge weight has been lifted. Just knowing she’s safe now with the emergency services is a huge relief and hopefully we will all get to see her as soon as possible."
