A driver was arrested in the early hours of this morning after failing a drugs test, according to police.
Police stopped a white Mercedes in Shiffnall Street, Bolton, before also discovering that the car had no insurance.
The driver tried to evade police and claim they were not actually driving the vehicle by moving into the passenger seat before officers got to the car.
However, they were the only people in the car and the police traffic car was directly behind the vehicle, so officers could see they were in fact the driver.
The driver would also be found with cannabis and was therefore arrested, police said.
A GMP Traffic post said: "Jumping in the passenger seat and saying you weren't driving might be ok unless you're the only one in the car and the traffic car is directly behind you.
"Stopped Shiffnall Street, Bolton. No insurance held. Found with cannabis and failed drug test."
