THE stage is set for Made in Manchester’s second Bolton festival - and the main promoter says he hopes its return marks a “celebratory feel” as life returns to a sense of normality.

Delayed for a year by the pandemic, Robert Brierley hopes the event can be a fun-filled event for all those who attend.

The rescheduled event is set to take place on Saturday, June 26, at Bolton Arena.

A host of local acts and tribute acts will be performing at the festival.

The tributes include Oasis, James, Buzzcocks and Courteeners acts, along with local performers Ryan Jarvis and Narrow Margin.

Robert said: “It feels great to be back holding the event. The first one in 2019 was brilliant - we had 1,300 people there and the feedback was great.

"Obviously we had hoped to do it again last year but couldn’t - but now we are even looking into possibly holding it as a 1,800 - 2,000 capacity event.”

Robert wants the event to become an annual tradition for the town and can become something people will look forward to going to each year.

Made in Manchester is also holding similar festivals in Romiley and Dukinfield later this year.

Robert added: “It’s something we have all been looking forward to.

"There is going to be something for everyone - we have loads of food vendors, a gin bar and we’re going to have a little fairground for kids.

"We have had lots of messages of support over the last year and we only gave out about 50 refunds from last year’s event.

“It’s going to be a really fun day out and we’re billing it as a bit of a celebration with everyone coming out of a 12 month lockdown. It just feels fantastic and I can’t wait for it to be back.”

Tickets for the event are still available and must be bought in advance.
