A BOLTON woman has been running for weeks to raise money for Marie Curie.

Gemma Iannantuoni, 29, is the assistant manager at Superdrug Bolton.

When the health and beauty chain asked its stores to raise £180 each for its partner charity Marie Curie, Gemma decided to go the extra mile - or several.

Gemma, who started running in December, set herself a target of running18 miles over the course of February. She hit her target on February 28, with a six-mile run around her native Bolton.

“It was quite a challenge as I haven’t really done any running before,” said Gemma. “I’m proud of myself, it’s gone to a good cause.”

Gemma, who has worked for Superdrug for 12 years, has raised £180 so far.She plans to carry on running for charity in the future.

The Superdrug Bolton team has also been fundraising for Marie Curie by selling daffodils in-store.
