A water leak is causing many in Bolton to have low water pressure or no running water at all.

The leak is on Blackburn Road, towards Egerton, where water has filled much of the road.

This issue is said to be causing people with a postcode of BL1 to have no water or just a trickle coming out of their taps.

United Utilities say they are dealing with the issue as quickly as possible.

The leak is also causing minor traffic delays on the road with temporary traffic lights in place.

A United Utilities spokesman said: "A leak on Blackburn Road affecting customers in BL1, has been spotted and reported to us. We’ve been out to investigate and found this to be the cause for some of you having no water or just a trickle."

UPDATE

"We’re currently on our way to repair a leak at Blackburn Road. In the meantime our Water on Wheels tankers are beginning to pump into the network to keep your taps flowing whilst we complete the neccessary works.

"We're sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll provide further updates once the repair is underway and hope to have things back to normal soon."
