A stolen bike has been recovered by police with work underway to reunite it with its owner.
The motorcycle was abandoned in a street off Worsley Road, Farnworth, by the Tesco store, and recovered by police.
Police then discovered that the bike had false number plates on it at the time it was found and was a bike that had previously been reported as stolen.
Work is now underway to return the bike to its owner.
A GMP Bolton South spokesman, said: "This motorcycle was reported abandoned in the back street off Worsley Road, Farnworth near Tesco.
"Close inspection by neighbourhood PCSOs revealed it on false number plates and was in fact an outstanding stolen bike.
"It was recovered to be formally identified and returned to it's rightful owner."
