POLICE were called to Bolton town centre in Thursday afternoon following reports of a disturbance following which a woman was taken to hospital.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and police have launched an appeal for information.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 12pm police were called to reports of a disturbance on Bradshawgate, Bolton.
"Officers attended and established there had been a dispute between a man and a woman inside the property, who had then come out onto the street.
"The woman was taken to hospital to be checked over. "
He added: "Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1018 of 04/03/2021.
"Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
Two police cars and a van pulled up at the traffic lights at the junction Newport Street catching the attention of shoppers and local workers.
