THE Queen will address the UK today as part of a BBC One programme that is replacing the Commonwealth Day service, which was cancelled amid the pandemic.
The rare speech will be televised on BBC One at 5pm as part of a special programme.
It is part of a broader TV programme dedicated to the Commonwealth Day by BBC One, called A Celebration for Commonwealth Day.
The pre-recorded message from Her Majesty will feature along with contributions from other royal members.
Also during the programme, Prince Charles gives an address at Westminster Abbey in tribute to the 'extraordinary determination, courage and creativity' of the Commonwealth's people during the crisis.
The address will also appear on the same day Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are to appear on US broadcaster CBS for a 90-minute-long interview with host Oprah Winfrey.
The interview will air in the US at 8pm, which will be the early hours of Monday morning here in the UK.
ITV have announced the interview will be aired for a UK audience on Monday night.
