Hundreds of homes have been left without power tonight after a major cut.
A power cut was reported by Electricity North West in the Moses Gate and Farnworth area around 7:20pm with 263 homes left without power.
Electricity North West believe they will have power restored by 10:10pm.
They say the cut has been caused by "an unexpected incident on our high voltage cable which provides electricity" to the area.
Electricity North West Tweeted: "We are aware of a powercut in Bolton currently affecting 263 properties.
"We have engineers on their way to site and our current estimated time of restoration is 22:10.
"If you require any further assistance please contact us on 105."
Farnworth councillor Paul Sanders has reported that traffic lights in Moses Gate, near the Railway Hotel pub, are out as well as the street lights on and surrounding Francis Street.
