A number of homes in Westhoughton have been left without power after a cut.
Electricity North West first announced a power cut in the Daisy Hill area just before 4pm, with the issue not expected to be resolved until much later tonight.
The cut has left at least 40 homes without power, with a number of BL5 postcodes affected.
Engineers are expected to be on site soon to deal with the issue.
A message on the Electricity North West website said: "The power cut in your area has been caused by an unexpected incident with the underground cable that provides electricity to your property."
