LOCKDOWN restrictions are set to relax even further next week with pubs and other hospitality venues set to open their doors to the public.

Boris Johnson has already confirmed April 12 will see the next step along the road map, with shops, pub beer gardens, gyms and hairdressers among the premises allowed to reopen.

This means that people will once again be able to enjoy a draught beer and pubs will be allowed to serve food and alcohol to customers sitting outdoors.

This time there is no 10pm curfew meaning you will be able to enjoy your food and drink well into the night.

The government have also scrapped the requirement for customers to have a substantial meal with their drink.

If you are excited about returning to pubs and finally getting to enjoy a pint of draught beer, here are some bars and pubs in Bolton that you will be able to visit from April 12:

Barristers Bar, Churchgate

This traditional pub is renowned for its selection of Cask Ales and many locals will be all too familiar with the karaoke machine.

The pub’s outdoor area will be open on 12 April from 5pm.

Posting to Facebook, the company wrote: “We’ll be open from 5pm and cannot wait to spend the spring evenings with you in our courtyard!
 

“Keep your eyes peeled for live music announcements and new drink announcements.”

The Victoria Inn, Markland Hill

Are you excited to get back to this local family-run pub?

They specialise in home cooked food and “fine” cask ales.

Posting to Facebook, the company wrote: “ We have decided to open our doors on 12th April. It’s been far too long and we can’t wait to see all our lovely customers again.

“We are only taking bookings for dining on our restaurant terrace. There will also be a separate sheltered beer garden where food will also be available on a first come first served basis.”

A spokesperson for the company added:  “We will have two outdoor areas.

“One area is for dining with us from our A La Carte Menu; this space now has heated covered booths and extra seating.

“We also have an new exciting cocktail menu, our 2 for £12 cocktails will be returning on Thursday & Sunday, available all day.”

The Robert Shaw pub, Westhoughton
 

This Wetherspoon branch on Market Street, will be open from 9am to 9pm (Sunday to Thursday inclusive) and 9am to 10pm (Friday and Saturday).

It will offer a slightly reduced menu, to include breakfast, burgers, pizza, deli deals, fish and chips and British classics. Food will be available from 9am to 8pm seven days a week.


The pub will not be operating a booking system.
 

The Crofters, Bradshaw Road

According to their Facebook page, The Crofters specialise in “authentic” and fresh cuisine- all of which you can wash down with a cold lager or glass of wine.

They are also the place to go if you want to enjoy live entertainment at weekends.

The Swan Bar and club, Churchgate

This award-winning bar and club will also be reopening on April 12.

They sell over 100 different types of gin, as well as a wide selection of beers and spirits.

According to the company website, the bar has a “friendly and great atmosphere” that attracts pub goers from around the town.

Posting to Facebook, the company wrote: “We cannot wait to open our courtyard to you all at 5pm on Monday 12th April.”

“We are not taking bookings for our courtyard and due to being outdoors, seating numbers are limited- but we’re still able to accommodate a lot of you!”

Tables will be given out at a first come first serve basis for tables accommodating your group size.

Due to Covid restrictions, it will be a maximum of six people to one table and from two households.
