A SERVING Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, the force has said.
GMP has received reports of misconduct in the workplace against an officer, who has been suspended.
The force's Professional Standards Branch is investigating and a 47-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault.
A GMP spokesman said: "We can confirm we have received reports of misconduct in the workplace against a serving GMP officer, who has been suspended following these allegations.
"An investigation is underway by our Professionals Standards Branch and a 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault as part of our enquiries.
"He remains in custody for questioning."
