POLICE are appealing for information after a man suffered "serious injuries" when his motorbike smashed into a concrete barrier.
The collision on St Peter's Way (A666) yesterday afternoon left the 34-year-old in hospital.
At around 2.40pm on Monday, April 12, officers responded to an incident involving two Yamaha motorbikes on the A666 near the Kearsley roundabout.
One of the bikes had collided with the concrete central barrier and the rider - the 34-year-old man - suffered serious injuries including a broken leg and a head injury.
North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) attended the scene with multiple resources including two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an advanced paramedic and an air ambulance.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The rider of the second bike remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
An investigation by GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is underway and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage, to contact them on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1622 of 12/04/2021.
