A NEW shop aiming to serve the Westhoughton community has opened for business.

Westhoughton One Stop is located in St George’s Avenue, Daisy Hill, and is hoping to provide an array of amenities for locals, as a go-to spot for vital services in Westhoughton.

It currently runs a charity shop, an advice service and has a computer for local young people to use for schoolwork.

Anne Marie Broadley, who helped set up the shop, said that the Monday launch went well - with many people praising the work that they were doing.

She said: “It was smashing. Lots of people stopped by to say hello and said how pleased they were to see the shop open.

"Chris Green stopped by too - he thought it was a good idea and of value to the community.

"We have also had Bolton at Home saying that they were impressed as well as the local neighbourhood watch, who are keen to work with us."

Among other things the shop would like to run are a uniform swap system, food bank services, and access to welfare needs.
