TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman who grew up in Bolton and touched many lives.

Joyce Noon nee Jones died peacefully at Liverpool University Hospital after her last short illness.

The inspirational lady was well-known in musical circles including Padgate Methodist Church and around Warrington and Bolton as she was a pianist.

Her funeral will be held on April 21 at 1pm at Padgate Methodist Church followed by Cremation at Walton Lea at 3pm.

Sister Sheila Parker said: "We were brought up in Deane Congi (Congregational Church) Our young lives involved the church and we attended three times on Sunday. She went to Bolton County Grammar School on Great Moor Street and she did music at A-Level and it was a big part of our lives. She touched many lives and was into hospitality welcoming teachers into their home."
