TWO schoolboys from Bolton have become stars on the social media platform TikTok thanks to their humorous food reviewing clips.

Ollie Ball and Jacob Pasquill, both 16, review food and drinks, often while at their school - St Joseph's in Horwich.

Over the last six months, the duos videos - part of a series called chuck it or scran it - have received millions of views, while the pair's channel has amassed 1.5m followers.

They have received attention from celebrities in recent weeks - including singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi and footballing stars Mason Greenwood and David Wheater.

The social media platform is used to make a variety of short-form videos, from genres like dance, comedy, and education, and is one of the most popular apps in the world.

And the pair said that ultimately, they were happy to just be putting smiles on people's faces during a difficult period of time.

Jacob said: "In November I had just started reviewing food in school and Ollie joined in after that, so we became a bit of a double act.

"We never thought it would get this big so we just want to see how far it goes. We will just keep doing it and not rush anything."

Jacob regularly opens and closes the videos, while also regularly reminding viewers if Coronation Street is on or not that night.

Ollie is typically the main reviewer on the channel, forensically dissecting everything from Galaxy Ripples to Jamaican Ginger Beers and the food available in the canteen.

His catchphrase 'It's Ollie Ball here' has become a hit on social media.

He said: "We try and do at least one video a day Monday to Friday. We didn't think it would become as big as it has and it is quite weird that we have 1.5m followers.

"The school has been supportive of us but they have started monitoring our videos. We are just happy to keep doing it."

Jacob added: "We are just two normal lads from Bolton trying to make people laugh and putting smiles on their faces.

"Everything is a bit negative at the minute so we are taking the negative aspects away and cheering people up."

The duo can be found on TikTok under their usernames Ollieball12 and jacobchuckitorscranit.
