Sylvia Bidder (nee Sayer) passed away peacefully at home age 82 years on April 2.
She was a much-loved mum to Jeannette, Kathryn and John, and proud grandma to her seven grandchildren.
Originally from Rawtenstall, Sylvia moved to Bradshaw in 1962 when she married Ian. She worked for a while at Bromley Cross Post Office, Longsight green grocers and loved owning her green grocer’s shop on Bradshaw Brow.
Sylvia was a member of St Maxentius Mother’s Union, the WI and Bradshaw Bowling Club, and was supportive of the community.
She appreciated having such wonderful neighbours and friends of many years. A special place for Sylvia was ‘The Rigbys’ where she had fond memories of walking from Rigby Lane to St Maxentius Primary School with her children, making hotpot and treacle toffee for Bonfire Night on ‘the flats’ and going to bowling.
Sylvia will be sadly missed by family and friends.
