A POLICE tent was set up in Bolton today with a large number of emergency service vehicles spotted at the scene.

Police cars, a fire engine and the tent were seen on Crompton Way near Bury Road.

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted and have not yet confirmed the nature of the incident.

One resident said: "There was a lot of police cars, a fire engine and a tent near a wooded area when I went past earlier.

"Later on a lot of the vehicles had left but there was still a police car and the tent.

"I'm not sure what has happened."

Another passer-by added: "We drove past and there are 5 police cars, a fire engine and two ambulances. There is also a crime scene tent up."

At around 6pm today there was no sign of emergency services on Crompton Way.
