A man suffered cuts to his head, ear and neck in an incident at the Old Toll Bar pub on Sunday.

Police were called to reports of a 'disturbance involving 15 to 20 people' at the pub in Intack and when they arrived, they found a man in his 20s with injuries.

A 29-year-old man from Salisbury in Wiltshire was arrested on suspicion of assault but has since been released on bail.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We were called 6.36pm on May 2 to reports of a disturbance involving 15 to 20 people at a pub in Accrington Road, Blackburn.

“When officers arrived they found a man in his 20s with cuts to his head, ear and neck.

“Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.

“A 29-year-old from Salisbury in Wiltshire was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault. He has since been released on bail.”

Following Sunday's incident, the pub put up a statement on social media saying that they were bringing in new rules for customer safety.

The pub has now implemented an earlier last orders time, plastic cups and will be drafting in security at weekends.
