AN artisan market in Radcliffe is preparing to make a post-lockdown comeback.

Just eight stallholders gathered when the market was being staged last October.

But this swelled to more than 20 by December, before the third pandemic lockdown took hold.

And now this Saturday will see the artisan showcase kick back into life, with handmade and locally-sourced jewellery, wax melts and sponges, chocolates, artworks, crafts, sweets and eco-friendly clothing.

Stalls are currently erected inside the main Radcliffe Market hall, where customers can also tour the regular mix of outfits.

But once indoor dining is allowed later this month, there are plans to host some traders outside the premises.

A spokesman said: "The artisan community has grown, and friendships have been formed amongst a lovely group of traders who are always supportive of and so pleased to see each other."

A specialist eco-friendly, vegan and vegetarian market is also planned for Saturday, May 15, and another artisan market for May 29.

Further dates for market have also been pencilled in for June.
