PHOTOGRAPHERS are invited to bring this proud town into focus for a new exhibition opening this summer.

Bolton based arts and heritage organisation, Live from Work and Bolton Station Community Partnership have teamed up to put the spotlight on Bolton in Interchange: The Heart of Bolton at the Platform Five Gallery at Bolton Train Station on Trinity Street.

It will feature a mix of photos by Julia Uttley and cartoons by Dave Burnham.

The images will show Bolton as it is today, offering contrasting images of the town.

Julia said: “The mix of photos and cartoons of the same places sounds a bit unusual but it works really well, offering different ideas of places we all know.”

Live from Worktown are inviting local people to submit their photos to be included in the exhibition. There is a single theme: " How Bolton is Changing. Bolton is changing fast – but are new developments helping a proud town rediscover some of its old fizz? And what effect will the covid lockdowns have?

The twelve most striking images will be chosen to be showcased as a part of the gallery exhibition with the 30 best to be featured on the Live from Worktown website.

The entries will be judged by Ray Jefferson and Mike Williamson of Bolton Documentary Photography.

Live from Worktown’s Dave Burnham said, “We are really excited to be exhibitng in this wonderful historic railway station building and we hope this is something that inspires you too. We’re very much looking forward to seeing your photos, so please get snapping!”
