MOTORISTS who were caught speeding across Bolton today have had 'disgraceful attitudes', according to police.

Transport officers have been carrying out speed enforcement work across the borough today, and a number of traffic offence reports have been issued.

Some offenders, however, did not take the potential dangers of their offending seriously, police say.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson for Bolton West said: "Transport Unit Officers have been deployed on speed enforcement today across a number of locations and a number of TOR's have been issued to speeding motorists.

"Sadly a few thought they were above the law and had disgraceful attitudes towards the dangers of speeding."

Yesterday it was revealed that nearly 40 driving offences have been reported in a single day after police monitored speeds across the borough.

A total of 38 offences were reported with one driver accused of using his phone while driving.

Police have been cracking down on speeding in Bolton following concerns raised last year over the number of serious driving accidents.

A Greater Manchester Police Traffic spokesman said yesterday: "Traffic PCSO carried out speed enforcement today around the Bolton areas including Westhoughton and Blackrod. 38 offences recorded."
