A TRIAL jury will next week begin deciding whether Little Lever man Lewis Peake is guilty over the churchyard killing of Steven McMyler.
Following a three-week trial at Manchester Crown Court the prosecution and defence barristers have concluded their closing speeches and the judge, Mr Justice Turner is due to sum up the case for the jury on Monday.
It is alleged that Peake, aged 30, of James Street, Little Lever, planned to rob 34-year-old Mr McMyler of his £11,000 Rolex watch after drinking with him in Wigan and recruited strangers to help him.
Peake, Michael Wilson, aged 20 from Kirkby and two youths, aged 17 and 14, deny manslaughter and conspiracy to rob. They have all already been acquitted of murder.
