The family of tragic teenager Reece Tansey have paid tribute to a “lovely guy” with many family members organising .

One family member is organising a send-off for Reece paying tribute to his love of motorbikes.

He said: “One of the family have asked can I can help so...Reece loved bikes, like myself, so we are asking if anyone at all who has a bike and would like to take part in the funeral send-off please get in touch.”

Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group is also organising tributes to help support the family of Reece, a life-long Wanderers fan.

Tom Ormesher said on their page: “When I saw what had happened to young lad Reece I wanted to try help raise money for the go fund me to help his family at this sad time. I have many friends who are DJs and do live sets for charities with me, I hope this weekend we can help Reece’s Family with out live DJ event which will run from 12pm to 12am.”

Emergency services were called to Walker Avenue, Great Lever, in the early hours of Tuesday morning after reports of a stabbing.

They took 15-year-old Reece Tansey to hospital but he died a short time later.

Police say Reece knocked on the doors of residents to call for help, with one who resident called for the emergency services praised by superintendent for the Bolton district Chris Bridge in a press conference on Wednesday.

Supt Bridge told The Bolton News on Wednesday that the stabbing was being treated as an isolated incident, with more police to be patrolling the Walker Avenue area of Great Lever to support the community.

Family member Jordan Coghiel, paid an emotional tribute to Reece.

He said: “We are all broken at the moment. He was such a loving guy who spent most of his time at home or with his grandparents.

“I do think this could have been prevented. Reece was never in any gangs, this shouldn’t have happened to him.

“His mum’s head is all over the place at the moment. He had a little brother too, all the family were really close.”

“We want Reece to be remembered as he was as a great guy. He had a lot of friends and was a loving person who will all remember him as he was.

“We can’t believe something like this has happened to him he wasn’t like that at all.”
