Three people were evacuated from a house fire in the early hours of this morning with one person left in a serious condition.
Firefighters from Broughton and Whitefield fire stations were called to a house fire in Richmond Avenue, Prestwich, around 3am this morning.
The fire has been described as "serious" and has "completely written off" the first floor of the Sedgley Park house.
Two people had to be rescued by the fire service from the house with one person said to be in a serious condition due to smoke inhalation
Whitefield watch manager Steve Wilcock said: "The fire was mostly contained to the bathroom on the first floor, which has been written off.
"Two people had to be rescued by firefighters with one in a serious condition.
"One person self rescued themselves but has been left badly injured as they dived from a first floor window.
"There is a lot of smoke damage to the house and an investigation is underway with the police to determine the source of the fire."
