POLICE are appealing for information after a man attempted to grab a teenage girl in Bolton.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, approached the girl in the wooded area near to Paper Mill Road at about 3.15pm on Tuesday, May 4.

She was followed by the man, who tried to engage her in conversation and grabbed her by the shoulder.

The man is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall, of average build with short messy brown hair and grey roots.

He was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a black waist-length raincoat with a hood and an unknown logo on the left chest.

The incident has been reported to police and the local neighbourhood team has increased patrols in the area.
