ANOTHER coronavirus death has been recorded at Royal Bolton Hospital, the latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show that 650 people have now died in hospital at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Thursday May 20.

It means there have been two deaths in the past week. The previous week there were none recorded.

Bolton Trust was caring for 24 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, which are the latest figures that have been made available by NHS England.

The number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on May 18 was up six from the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at the hospital occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 increased by 60 per cent in the last month.

Figures show that 25 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in the week to May 16.

The North West is the third-worst affected regions in England, after the Midlands and London.
