A THIEF who burgled Heron Foods in Bolton on May 19, stealing goods worth £85, has been jailed for 12 weeks.

At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Michael Gallagher, aged 45, of Levens Drive, Breightmet, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and possessing cocaine as well as using threatening behaviour towards two women on February 26.

Ordering Gallagher to pay a £128 victim surcharge in addition to the jail sentence, magistrates told him: “It is evident from your offending record that you do not comply with non-custodial sentences or even suspended prison

sentences.

“You say that you have addressed your drug problem and yet you were found in possession of cocaine and, by your own admission, you had taken diazepam.”
