A MAN has been given a suspended prison sentence after he was caught with a knife and cosh in his car.
Wigan Magistrates’ Court heard how Muhubuddim Ekti, aged 39, had the folding pocket knife and the cosh in his vehicle on Denstone Crescent, Bolton, on November 19 last year.
He pleaded guilty to having the weapons in a public place and was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months.
Ekti, of Southlands Avenue, Leeds, was also ordered to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work and pay £213 in costs an charges.
Magistrates told him: “These are serious offences. You had two weapons of offence in your vehicle, both capable of inflicting serious bodily harm on a person. It should have been obvious to you that you should not have had possession of those weapons.”
