TWO lanes have been closed on the M61 southbound from Junction 3, Walkden, to Junction 2, Kearsley, following a collision.
Road traffic officers and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene.
There are long delays in the area as traffic builds up.
Vehicle recovery are on their way to the area to assist.

Highways England said: "There are 30 minute delays on the approach to this M61 incident.
"Usual journey times spanning 3.5miles back towards Junction 5.
"Average speeds on approach to the incident are less than 10mph."
