A MAN who was receiving treatment for pneumonia died at Royal Bolton Hospital last month, aged 50.
Police coroner’s officer Marquita Hogan told Bolton Coroners Court how IT analyst Alan Bray, of Queen’s Way, Kearsley, was admitted to the hospital on May 12 with worsened pneumonia.
Despite receiving specialist treatment, Mr Bray, who is survived by wife and school cook Alison Bray, died on May 15 - three days after coming into hospital care.
He had previously had three renal transplants for chronic kidney failure, the court heard.
A post mortem examination, conducted by Dr Okonge at the Royal Bolton Hospital, suggested the cause of death to be one of multi-organ failure.
The inquest was adjourned by area coroner Alan Walsh, and will resume at Bolton Coroners Court on October 11.
