WORK continues at pace to get the first dose of the vaccination to everyone in Bolton who is eligible.

The criteria has changed rapidly this week and by the weekend, everyone over the age of 18 nationally will have access to a vaccination.

The Vaccination Bus will be at Cambrian Business Park, off Derby Street, on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20 and is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Bolton who hasn’t yet had their first dose.

Getting a second dose is also crucial as two doses offer the best protection against Covid-19 and in particular the Delta Variant.

Two doses help to reduce the chances of you becoming seriously unwell and reduces the likelihood of being admitted to hospital.

Anyone who needs help in getting their second dose can contact the helplines on: 01204 462125, 462157, 462030, 462028. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm only.

Dr Helen Wall, senior Responsible Officer for the Vaccination Programme in Bolton, said: “More people are now eligible for their first dose of the vaccination and I would strongly urge them to visit one of our many vaccination services in the borough. There are new sites being added all the time as we focus on getting everyone vaccinated as soon as possible. Keep an eye on Bolton CCG social media channels for updates.

“I would also encourage people to get their second dose sorted too as this will offer them the best protection. Some vaccination services are offering walk-in clinics, so no appointment needed. Alternatively, contact us on the numbers listed and we will help to point you in the right direction for that all-important second dose.”
