The stone wall of a shop in Bromley Cross has been smashed after a car reportedly drove into it.
The wall of a Sainsbury's Local in Darwen Road was left scattered across the pavement after a motorist crashed into it around 10pm last night (June 16).
Damage is still clearly visible to passersby, with the incident causing a 'big bang'.
One local resident told The Bolton News: "I didn't see it, but heard a big bang, and the house seemed to vibrate.
"I thought my wall had been hit. I looked out the window and saw a car had hit the wall opposite, there was stones and debris everywhere.
"The people in the car seemed to be okay as they got out."
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Two parking spaces at our Darwen Road store are temporarily unavailable while we fix a wall which was damaged last night.
"It will be repaired as quickly as possible and the store remains open as usual. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
