THE Octagon Theatre is on the lookout for talented young people to join the next cohort for their Young Octagon company.

Applications are now open for people aged 13-19, up to 25 for participants with additional needs, to join the Octagon’s young performance company this September

The Young Octagon gives young actors opportunities to work with professional directors and creatives, to create bold and adventurous pieces of theatre.

Taking place over three terms, the Young Octagon provides an intensive theatre performance training experience that would benefit young people who are considering acting as a potential career.

Head of Creative Engagement at the Octagon, Imogen Woolrich, said: “ The programme provides a really great foundation for anyone who is considering acting as a profession and hones their talent, skills and commitment, whilst offering a really fun and enjoyable experience.”

Young people who have had some previous performance experience, whether at school or in the community, are invited apply and especially those who have not visited a theatre much previously, but are interested to find out more about the stage.

The deadline for applications is Sunday, June 27, at 11:59pm. Audition workshops take place July 3, and July 8.
