Bolton is now recording one of the lowest coronavirus infection rates in the Greater Manchester region as cases continue to fall.

Five of the 10 boroughs in the GM region are now recording more Covid cases than Bolton, according to Public Health England, as most continue to see their infection rates rise.

Coronavirus infection rates in Bolton have been falling in recent weeks after their was a huge spike in late-April and early-May due to the spread of the Delta variant.

However, surge vaccinations and testing carried out by the public health team and volunteers have brought this under control, while the Delta variant continues to spread elsewhere.
