COUNCIL bosses are set to sell off land to enable a new Aldi store to be constructed.
Agents for the retail giant have approached the authority over land off De Havilland Way, Horwich.
Council deputy leader Cllr Martin Cox has been told the site is required for the construction of an access to a new store at Paragon Business Park.
Gerry Brough, council place director, said in a report: "An external valuation prepared by Gerald Eve has assessed market value for the identified land and it is proposed that the disposal is at market value."
Cllr Cox is also being asked to approve the sell-off for the Quest building, the ex-home of Bolton NICE
The total expected capital receipts for the sell-off is estimated at just over £450,000.
