Detectives are continuing to appeal for information after a man was shot in the leg at an address in Wigan a week ago today (June 19).

Officers were called to Crabtree Road in Wigan at around 8.30pm on Saturday to a report of a shooting which is believed to have followed on from a disturbance on Ridyard Street earlier that day.

An investigation is on-going and now detectives are asking people who live nearby or may have been visiting the area to get in touch.

No arrests have been made and the man, 34, remains in critical condition with life-changing injuries.

Detective Inspector John Davies, from GMP's Wigan district, said: "Enquiries are at a relatively early stage of the investigation however, it is believed that this is a targeted incident at this time.

"As we piece together information that will help bring those responsible to justice, I would urge anyone who lives or was visiting the area on the afternoon of Saturday 19 June, and has any CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident which may have happened on Ridyard Street prior to the shooting, to contact us."
