THE founder of a Bolton-based digital marketing agency is celebrating after being nominated for a prestigious award.

Matt Tomkin, founder of agency Tao Digital Marketing, Knowsley Street in the town centre, has been shortlisted for ‘Business Person of the Year’ at the Greater Manchester Business Awards.

Tao Digitial launched just over four years ago but has been going from strength to strength since then.

The company has received seven award nominations in the last year, both internationally and nationally.

These include the Global Marketing Awards where they were nominated for the best global business to business campaign with Fleetcover and the UK Digital Growth Awards where they were nominated for the best business to business ‘Pay-Per-Click’ marketing campaign with Hilton Smythe.

Mr Tomkin is not the only Tao Digital Team member to be nominated for an award at the Made in Manchester Awards.

Operations manager Chloe Mitchell has also been shortlisted for ‘manager of the year’ at the ceremony.

Matt said it was great that Tao were gaining recognition and that their hard work over the last four years is paying off.

Matt said: “It’s a great honour to be nominated for Business Person of the Year amongst some fantastic local talent.

“Since day one, Tao Digital Marketing has been about supporting and working with people and businesses within the Greater Manchester area.

“It is fantastic that both the agency and individual members of the team are now gaining recognition from awards bodies. Our hard work is really paying off.”

It is currently being decided if the award ceremony will be held in person or digitally depending on coronavirus restrictions at the time.

It is set to be held on September 3 of this year and will potentially be held at the recently built Hotel Brooklyn in Manchester city centre.

The full shortlist for the Greater Manchester Business Awards has recently been announced on their website after a host of nominations were received, according to the organisers.
