WITH a summer of cancelled events looming across the UK, Rivington Terraced Gardens is lifting the spirits of music fans by holding a three day festival.

And businesses are being urged to get onboard and pledge their support for the festival which will raise vital funds to preserve the historic beauty spot for generations to come.

The festival runs from July 16 to 18 and organisers are appealing to local businesses to become sponsors and raise their profile at the event, which is headlined by rock bands, Toploader and Republica. The ‘Friday Legends’ event features Bez from The Happy Mondays, currently starring in the Vindaloo Two Euros 2020 anthem video, alongside musicians and broadcasting icons, Mark Radcliffe and Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets and XS Manchester.

With sponsorship opportunities ranging from £50-£1000, supporting businesses will feature on social media and the main screen at the event, with branding placement where practical.

A range of options are available, from sponsoring casks of beer, to event lighting, tents, security staff and food and drink vouchers for volunteers.

Andrew Suter, Rivington Heritage Trust programmes manager, said: “This is such an important place in people’s hearts and local businesses benefit in many ways from having this special attraction on their doorstep. As a charity, we’re funded entirely by donations and preserve the gardens through the efforts of our amazing volunteers.

“We know it has also been challenging times for many local businesses too but we are reaching out to those who can to come onboard and help us to bring an enjoyable and much needed event in these difficult times.

“We have gone to great lengths to ensure our festival goers can enjoy themselves in an environment that will have precise Covid safety measures in place; and we have so many sponsorship opportunities available for businesses to join us and play their part too. What better way than to lift the gloom and celebrate summer than by getting into the festival spirit.”
