A NEW awards ceremony will celebrate excellence across Bolton and Greater Manchester businesses.

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has launched an inaugural Excellence Awards and is seeking nominations.

Judges will be on the lookout for outfits which have thrived over the past tumultuous 18 months of lockdowns and social distancing.

Reet Dhallu, the chamber's membership head, said: "Everyone agrees that since March 2020 businesses and communities right across Greater Manchester have all been impacted in some way or another by the pandemic.

"We are a great community and a strong economy here in GM but the going has been extremely tough for a lot of people and some businesses.

"Being part of this great community the chamber wanted to recognise the contribution of organisations across the whole of GM.

“So we decided on setting simple-to-enter Excellence Awards covering five categories which allow the full range of businesses and organisations we have in GM to enter.

“You can enter your own business or even someone else’s if you feel they’ve done something worthy of recognition and reward.

Nominations are now open and the awards celebration is slated to take place at the chamber's offices in Elliott House, Manchester, on October 28.
