OCTAGON Theatre’s latest offering is proving to a be a real showstopper.

The theatre has opened its new Kitchen & Bar restaurant with a new breakfast and lunch menu for town centre visitors.

The new bigger restaurant area is a key piece of the multi-million transformation of the theatre — and is already proving popular and attracting rave reviews.

Head of Operations and Customer Experience, Marie Irving-Murphy said: “As part of our refurbishment we have an amazing new two-floor Kitchen & Bar which we are delighted to say is now open to the public and it offers a really warm and welcoming environment for our visitors to eat, drink and socialise.

“We have initially launched with our breakfast and lunch menus which have a wide array of delicious hot and cold food and drink selections and we will be announcing details of our evening and pre-theatre dining in the autumn.”

The Kitchen and Bar opens Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.

On the breakfast menu are traditional English and vegan breakfasts, bagels and breakfast sandwiches, from £3.

Lunchtime menu includes salad bowls, loaded fries, delicious burgers and pizzas as well as freshly made sandwiches and toasties.

There is also a selection of desserts including home made scones.

Visitors can also come in and enjoy a catch-up over a wide range of beverages — hot and cold drinks from the bar, serving tempting wines, spirits, cider, beers and local ales.

The Octagon unveiled its multi-million pound look early last month, after closing its buidling for refurbishment in the summer of 2018 before going dark as the pandemic struck.
