A BOLTON-based business has received an award in recognition of being a‘living wage employer’.
Boo Coaching & Consulting won the Living Wage Champion Award 2021, which is given to living wage employers - and individuals that are leading the movement by promoting the real living wage in their industries.
Becci Martin, founder of Boo Coaching & Consulting said: “Boo became a living wage employer in 2016 because it absolutely fits with our values.
We fundamentally believe that employers have a responsibility to pay their staff fairly for the work they do and we have seen the positive impact that paying the living wage has on our staff and on our business.
"We couldn’t ask for a more motivated and engaged team and being a Living Wage employer is central to upholding our values. Put simply, it’s the right thing to do.
"We are thrilled to have won a Living Wage Champion Award for our efforts in supporting the campaign for fairer pay in the last year, and we will continue to be one of the loudest voices of the living wage movement in Bolton.”
The UK Living Wage currently stands at £9.50 per hour.
The virtual awards ceremony was hosted by renowned saxophonist YolanDa Brown.
Laura Gardiner, Director of the Living Wage Foundation, said: “Congratulations to all those who won a Living Wage Champion Award.
"After this difficult year, it has been so inspiring to hear the stories of how organisations and individuals have gone above and beyond to promote the living wage in their communities and sectors in a time of such great need.”
