Does your favourite chocolate match up to the rest of the county?

Now you can find out as a new study has revealed which sweet treat has nabbed the top spot just in time for World Chocolate Day (7 July).

Using Google search data, Casino.co.uk compiled a list of the UK’s favourite chocolate bars and also filtered the findings county by county.

According to the data, Lindor chocolate hits the top spot for Lancashire's favourite chocolate as it received the most Google searches from locals.

In second place is Bounty, which might surprise some people who decide to leave those for last in the Christmas chocolate box.

Coming in at third in the county was a Kit Kat Chunky and in fourth was the humble Twix.

The findings also show the most popular chocolate bars in the North West.

In Greater Manchester, the most popular chocolate bar according to Google searches is a Snickers and their second place bar is a Bounty.

In Cumbria, the top spot goes to the Kit Kat Chunky while in Merseyside the crown goes to the Cadbury Flake.

Over in Cheshire, locals seem to love a Bounty and Aero Bar as they took first and second place respectively.

Across the UK as a whole, Snickers came out as the clear winner and was a top choice in 39 counties analysed in the study.

Toblerone was a distant second choice (eight counties)  and Caramac came in third (seven counties).
