HAVING been open for 121 years, Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe has seen it all - but the legendary establishment experienced a first when they were reviewed by Rate My Takeaway on Youtube.

In a video which has received over 200,000 views, Danny Malin reviews into a selection of pasties, pies and cakes from the shop and even chats with owner Marie Walsh, 83.

It's not the first time Danny has stopped by Bolton to try some top-notch cuisine; in April he reviewed Grandma's Kitchen in Farnworth, which has nearly reached two million views.

In the video of his visit to the 121-year-old takeaway in June, he orders a selection of tasty treats for the bargain price of £6, sets up his camping table on Churchgate and tucks in.

Sampling a meat pie, meat and potato pasty and cheese pasty, he was impressed with the softness of the pastry.

During the tasting Danny said: "You know something Bolton, I'm loving you, every second I am here."

Not wanting to miss out on everything on offer, he then tries some of the puddings, including a chocolate eclair and a custard slice.

He said: "Right pudding time. If I live here you would have to get me in a wheel barrow up and down here."

Biting into a custard slice, he simply said: "Oh my God."

Chatting to Marie, he told her they were the best pasties he'd ever tasted.

Since the video has been published Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe has seen more customers walk through the door.

Marie said: "The video is fantastic, he was there for quite a long time actually.

"We've had lots more people visit since the video was published.

"He enjoyed everything, I think he was impressed by the fact that it's all handmade here with original recipes.

"I told him we've been open 121 years and I said 'Don't be cheeky and say I was there at the opening."

A spokesman for Rate My Takeaway said: "A lot of the places we visit are based on community recommendations, which is why we came here.

"What's great about it is that it's very different from the usual takeaways we go to, and that its been around for so long."
