LAST week in Looking Back we featured a photo taken inside Bolton’s Grand Theatre which had undergone a facelift and was offering continental-style cabaret entertainment and dining.
Sadly this transformation failed to save the theatre which began life on Churchgate in 1894 as it closed in 1960 and would subsequently be used a bingo hall.
This picture was taken in 1963 shortly before the building was demolished to make way for a substantial office block.
The Legs of Man Hotel next door would also fall victim to the bulldozers as part of the same building programme.
