A CAKE shop operating out of a horse box is set to open its new location at the end of July.

The Cakery, run by William Chambers, with fiancée Rosie Lomax and brother Daniel, has been operating for around five years in Walker Fold, but its new Smithills Hall location is hoping to introduce their treats to a new range of customers.

The venture serves up teas, coffees and other treats for its customers, while also having experience in providing catering services for Woodland Trust events and music festivals.

William said: "It has been doing really good and we have been going from strength to strength, getting more customers every week.

"We have hired two new people for the horsebox, who will be mixing between the new horsebox and the old one."

The new horsebox will be open 10-4pm seven days a week from the week commencing July 26.

The new location could be the forerunner to a burgeoning Cakery empire - with William eyeing up a cafe in the town centre.

He said: "We are still putting together the plans for a a permanent location - we are definitely looking for a place which could be a Cakery cafe and bar.

"We are seeing new faces every week in addition to our regulars and we hope that the more we grow, the more people we can attract and show our products to."
