Several men from Bolton have been fined for drug driving recently. Here's what happened to them at magistrates' courts all over the UK.

A TEENAGER has been sentenced for driving under the influence of cannabis last year.

Thomas Hodgkiss, 19, pleaded guilty to the offence which he committed on May 27 of last year.

He was stopped by traffic officers while driving his Ford Fiesta in Greenhalgh, Lancashire - and subsequently failed a roadside drugs test.

Hodgkiss, of Bradshaw Meadows, Bolton, was fined £405 by Blackpool Magistrates' And Civil Courts - and will also be required to pay £470 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £41 surcharge to victim services.

He will also face a 12-month driving ban.

A DRUG driver was sentenced after failing a roadside drugs test down south last year.

Christian Radatsz, 29, was sentenced for drug driving at South East Wiltshire Magistrates' Court on July 9.

Radatsz, of Harvey Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving his Volkswagen Polo while under the influence of cannabis in Wiltshire - after he failed a roadside drug test on October 26, 2020.

He was fined £500, and will be required to pay a further £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £50 surcharge for victim services.

He has also been dealt a 12-month driving ban for the offences.

A TYLDESLEY man was sentenced at Manchester And Salford Magistrates' Court for offences committed last year.

Ryan Jervis, of Ellesmere Street, Tyldesley, was caught driving his Renault Megane under the influence of cannabis in Leigh on November 11 of last year.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty and has now been dealt a community order - which involves completing 80 hours of unpaid work in the community over the next year.

Jervis must also complete up to 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days under the supervision of a responsible officer.

He will also be subject to a driving ban for 12 months.

A YOUNG motorist has been fined and handed a driving ban after drug driving.

Joseph Murphy, 22, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of cannabis on December 5 of last year.

Murphy, of Long Lane, Bolton, was driving a blue Mercedes A200 on Blenheim Road, Bolton, when he was stopped by traffic police.

An excessive amount of cannabis was found in his system and he was fined £120 at Wigan and Leigh Courthouse.

On top of the fine, he must also pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £34 surcharge to victim services.

He will also be disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.
