POLICE and ambulance were called to a house in Bromley Cross this afternoon to a report of an 'unresponsive child'.
The one-year-old girl is tonight said to be a critical condition in hospital.
Emergency services were mobilised to an address in Hillside Avenue, Bromley Cross, at 2.45pm.
An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene, landing on Turton School playing fields.
Police remained on the scene into the afternoon.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "At 2:45pm on Monday 19 July, police were called to an address on Hillside Avenue, Bromley Cross to a report of an unresponsive child.
"Police and ambulance crews attended and a one year-old girl was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a critical condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We have taken a patient to hospital."
