An uninsured driver flipped their car on its side on a major Bolton road this morning.
The driver claims that they had swerved to avoid a fox in the road, with pictures showing the car badly damaged in the crash.
The incident happened on Manchester Road, near to the exit onto St Peter's Way.
Police say the driver was uninjured in the crash.
Police then discovered that the driver was uninsured and only held a provisional driving licence, and were therefore reported.
A GMP Traffic spokesman said: "Report of one vehicle RTC on Manchester Road, Bolton near to A666 exit.
"The driver stated he swerved to avoid a fox. Well the fox is ok, as for the car, maybe not.
"Driver uninjured but also found to be uninsured with a provisional licence. Reported and car awaiting recovery."
